PUBLIC RELATIONS AT ITS BEST: GENERATING POSITIVE PRESS IN UNEXPECTED WAYS FOR BIG BEAR/MEMBERS FIRST CREDIT UNION:

Opportunity
Profound was made aware that Big Bear/ Members First Credit Union was donating their soon-to-be, torn-down office building to the local fire department for extensive fire training exercises. This provided the opportunity to generate positive press for the credit union via Profound’s Public Relations services.

Solution
Once Profound learned about the donation of the building, we quickly worked with the local fire department to create and distribute a press release. Even though the credit union did not believe this event to be newsworthy, we did. The press release generated local media interest and turned the training exercises into a media opportunity. For our client this media relations exposure was turn-key since they had Profound advocating on their behalf. Once we became aware of the event, we had the processes in place to deliver the information to the appropriate media channels. Profound works with clients to not only fulfill requests, but to look for additional methods to increase our client’s media exposure.

Result
Positive media interest was generated in the local media creating awareness of the Big Bear Members First Credit Union. Most importantly, an opportunity to publicize the philanthropic community efforts of our client was not lost.
